How we rank installers
Every listing on this site is ordered by published evidence. No business pays for placement, no business can, and the section below says exactly what does move a shop up.
The commercial firewall
CeramicCoating.com is run by Savo Group, which also sells websites and marketing to businesses in this trade. That's a real conflict and pretending otherwise would be worse than naming it, so here is the rule we hold ourselves to:
Buying marketing services doesn't affect ranking, and it never will. Contributing content doesn't buy position either, although it does let us verify facts we otherwise could not, and verified facts count for more than unverified ones. Any business that's a Savo Group client is labeled as one on its listing.
What actually moves a shop up
In descending order of weight. You can check every one of these against any listing.
- Highest
Does the shop publish a price for this service?
A business that puts its rates on its own website has committed to them in public, which is a materially different act from quoting privately. 552 of 4,237 shops here do it, and on a page about a specific service the ones pricing that service rank above the ones pricing a different one.
- High
Is there a manufacturer credential we can check?
Coating and film brands certify installers, and the certification is a claim someone other than the shop is making. 295 shops here carry one we found on their own site. A credential we verified against the brand's own installer list counts for more than one we only read on the shop's site, and today most are the second kind.
- Medium
How much of the business is protection work?
A shop advertising coating, correction and film is a protection specialist. A general detailer with coating as one line on a long menu is a different proposition, and for a four-figure job on a car you care about the distinction is worth surfacing.
- Low
Has the owner verified the listing?
Claiming is free and it does not buy position. What it does is let us verify hours, pricing, service area and credentials directly, and a verified fact reasonably counts for more than an unverified one. 4 listings here are owner-verified.
- Tie-break only
Rating and review count
Almost every shop in this trade sits between 4.7 and 5.0, so a star rating separates nobody. Review volume is compressed hard and used only to break ties, which stops a shop with two thousand reviews owning every page it appears on.
What we won't publish
- A rating we did not verify. No aggregate score is asserted in our structured data unless the page carries the reviews behind it.
- A price as a quote. Everything on this site is an advertised rate read from a business's own website, and it says so wherever it appears.
- A credential we could not find. If a certification appears on a listing, we read it on the shop's own site or the brand's installer list.
- A city page with nothing on it. A page needs real depth before it exists, and we hold back the ones that don't have it rather than shipping a thin tier.
Questions about our independence
Can a shop pay to rank higher on CeramicCoating.com?
No, and this is not a policy we intend to revisit. Placement is not for sale on this site. Our parent company, Savo Group, sells marketing services to businesses in this trade, and buying them has no effect whatsoever on where a shop appears here. Shops that are clients are labeled as such on their listing so you can judge for yourself.
Can a brand pay for its installers to rank higher?
No. A manufacturer can sponsor a brand hub or supply product data, and that is disclosed where it happens. It buys presence, never position, and it certainly does not move that brand’s installers above a competitor’s in a city listing.
Why does claiming a listing help, if it does not buy position?
Because it changes what we know rather than what we charge. An unclaimed listing is built from what we can read publicly. A claimed one lets the owner confirm pricing, hours, service area and credentials, and confirmed facts are weighted above unconfirmed ones for the same reason a cited number beats an assumed one.
What if a listing is wrong?
Tell us and we will fix it, whether or not you own the business. The fastest route is to claim the listing, which puts corrections in the owner’s hands directly.
